Sims, died at the house of Mr. Benjamin Tarver, Lowndes Co., Al, December 8th, 1847. He was the son of Waller and Mary Sims, born in N. Carolina, Abbeville District, November 1, 1819, removed to Alabama with his parents in 1832.....A. S. Dickinson." The "N" in N. Carolina is underlined, obviously intending to note that it should have been S. Carolina instead of N. Carolina, because N. Carolina does not have an Abbeville District. 1837-1860, edited by Brent Holcomb. I have two questions that Id like to throw out to the list. 1) Is there anyone that can find a copy of the death record there in Lowndes County? I would be more than happy to pay someone for their time, trouble and expense. 2) Does anyone have access to a grooms index of marriage that could check to see if William married before he died at age 28?
