Dear Diana and others, I believe the Greenhut line appeared in Alabama much later than my Long line as the Long line was here in 1825. Calvin was b. in AL in 1825 and Henry was b. in SC in 1823, according to their ages in the Lowndes Co. AL 1850 Census Records. I do not find the Greenhut line mentioned in the book, "Lowndes Court House", by Mildred Brewer Russell or the book, "Butler County in The Nineth Century", by Marilyn Davis Hahn. The only family that I can find that Calvin & Henry could fit into would be that of Alex Long in the 1830 Lowndes Co. Census Record. Here are some Lowndes Co. Sarah Ann Lewis Dec 16 1848 There was another Henry Long who lived in the same area that my Henry Long lived in near Fuller's Cross Roads. He was killed at Peach Tree Creek during the Battle of Atlanta. His father was William Long b. ca 1793 in GA. This Henry Long was m. to Morning Elizabeth Bryant 12 Aug 1858 in Butler Co. They lived near Rutledge, AL. Maybe someone in Butler, Crenshaw or Lowndes Counties might know something about the above people. Wynnette T. Welch Dear Wynnette, This was the only Greenhut family listed for Alabama according to the 1880 Mormon CD Census set. So I suspect Adolph is the other half of Long & Greenhut.
