Winnemore The State of Alabama Lowndes County I, Samuel E. Winnemore of the town of Benton, Lowndes County, Alabama, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, and being of sound mind and disposing memory, do make and publish this my last will and testament, hereby evoking all previous wills by me at any time heretofore made. First, I give, devise and bequeath to Basil Manly Hill, Twelve Hundred dollars and one half interest in the Hotel and lots in Benton on same side of the street up to and adjoining my store house, formerly known as the Lane Carriage lot, now used as a barroom by Jas. M. Staggers at present - Second - I give and bequeath to Rowan and Manly Hills, sons of Wm. J. Hill deceased, twelve hundred dollars, to be equally divided them, also one half interest in the hotel and lots on same side of street up to and adjoining my Store House in Benton, Ala, now occupied as a barroom by Jas. M. Staggers. Third - I give, devise and bequeath unto Willie Hill, daughter of Belle Hill, of Springville, St. Clair Co., Ala Seven hundred dollars to be held by her mother Belle Hill until she arrives at lawful age. Fourth - I give devise and bequeath under Sloan Rowan and Edward Rowan, One thousand dollars, to be equally divided between them. Fifth - I give, devise and bequeath my gold watch and chain to Rowan Hill, son of Wm. J. Hill, decd. Sixth - I give devise and bequeath unto John Hill, son of Basil Manly Hill, my Oroid Watch. Seventh - I give devise and bequeath unto my beloved niece Agnes J. Alleman, who resides at Hanover, York Co., Pa Fifteen Hundred dollars, also I give, devise unto my Grand Nephew, Horace Winnemore Alleman of the above place, Five hundred dollar The above sum of five Hundred dollars to Horace W. Alleman is to be paid to Dr. Horace Alleman or his heirs if dead. Eight - I give, devise and bequeath to my two nieces Maggie Brogan and Charlotte H. residing at Muscatine, Iowa, one thousand dollars, equally divided between them. Ninth - I give devise and bequeath unto James Winnemore Staggers, son of R. J. Staggers, the sum of Five Hundred dollars. Tenth - It is my wish and desire that five hundred dollars be set aside by my executor to build me a neat monument over my grave and an Iron Fence. The fence shall include in the enclosure the graves of my wife and father and mother buried there, also the graves of W. J. Hill and the Hill children. Eleventh - I give devise and bequeath to Mrs. Plum Kelly, wife --- Three hundred dollars. Twelfth - I give devise and bequeath unto the White House Association, One Hundred dollars. Thirteenth - I nominate and appoint Robert J. Staggers of Benton ...... In testimony whereof I herewith set my hand and affix my seal this the 28th day of October 1903. S. E. Cadden State of Alabama Lowndes County....Probate Court In the matter of the Probate and record of the last will and testament of Samuel Winnemore, deceased: Before me J.C. Wood Judge of Probate Court in and for the county and State aforesaid personally appeared in Open Court E.D. Rolen and J.H. Cadden who having been by me sworn and examined did and does depose and say that they were subscribing witnesses to the foregoing instrument of writing now shown to the said affiants and ... purports to be the last will and testament of Samuel E. Winnemore deceased, late an inhabitant of this county - that the said Samuel E. Winnemore since deceased, signed executed said instrument on the day the same bears date, and declared the same to be his last will and testament and that affiants set their signatures thereto on the day it bears date as subscribing witnesses to the same, in the presence of the testator at his request, and in the presence of each other, and that said testator was of sound mind and disposing memory and understanding, and in the opinion of affiant, ful of making his said last will at the time the same was so made as ..! . and deponents further state that said testator was on the day of the date of said the full age of twenty one years and upward and a resident of this county. Winnemore, deceased, and that said will together with the proof thereof, has been recorded office in Book No. D of Wills at Pages 54 and 55.
