My grandfather was Joel Dawson Davis(Highland Home, Ala.). His father, David Davis and William Davis were twins. Wondering about David's wife, Eliza. Do you happen to know her last name? Also, my info.(from Carolyn Golowka) states that William married Unity Royal on March 7, 1851, Montgomery marriage books, and they had 4 children(1860 census). I have located quite a bit of information about my ancestors, Sampson Sr. and Sampson Jr., in the N.C. Heritage Book here in our local Gilmer County Library. Seems Sampson Davis, Jr. came from Bladen County, N.C., then travelled down the Federal Road to Highland Home.
