I have been looking unsuccessfully for Howard Douglas who said (quoted in a newspaper article about him) that he was born in Lowndes county in 1858. So far I have not found a trace of his existence and I would appreciate any information anyone might have on him. I have found him in a Birmingham city directory in 1888 with his name spelled Douglass. Many thanks for any tiny bit of help!
