Hi Fred, Thanks for the fast response. So Sorry to hear that Mrs. Traylor passed away last year. The diary I am referring to is that of John Getson Traylor, who was Green Rives' overseer in Collirene, AL in the late 1830s. In a letter to my mother-in-law, Jewell Patton, dated 3 Feb., 1979, Mrs. Rosa Traylor writes, "The John Getson Traylor (Green Rives' overseer) mentioned [in the Rives family history] on pp. 13, 254, and other passages--was my husband's great uncle. I have a copy of the diary he kept from 1834-1847. We have excerpts of it in the book we wrote, "Collirene, The Green Hill." (From 1834-1840 he was overseer for Green Rives' plantations at Collirene.) He spelled just like a word sounded." I hope a copy can be located. I remember reading it, and it was a fascinating document, detailing events of their daily lives, socializing, churchgoing, running of the plantation, etc. Would you mind e-mailing me privately to tell me how to contact her daughter? Thank you so much, Charlene Patton
