I am looking for any information on ,J.H.Hilburn Family of ,Telfair Co.Ga. The Reason I am trying to locate this family is my Grandfather was their 1/2 brother. J.H.Hilburn ,was married to,Kelia Tara Burkett,of Telfair co.,Ga. Kelia had been married before and had three childrenfrom first marriage,to John Patrick Johnson,of South Carolina. Their Childrens names were , George Johnsn ,Born ; 7 Sept.,1889, in Appling Co.,Ga. Cora Johnson and Oathar Robert Johnson. (NOTE) All Johnson Children were born in ,Appling County ,Ga.When Kelia Tara Burkett married J.H." Joe" Hlburn,the 1st.Husband of Kelia Tara Burkett,had already died.Kela and second husband ,J.H.Hilburn, had two children from their marriage ,"Fred" Hilburn and Joseph Preston Hilburn.When Kelia Tara died after her last child was born.The Johnson children from her first marriage were separated out by the ,Burkett Family.J.H.Hilburn ,married, Shirley Walden. J.H.Hilburn on his death bed left his and ,Kelia Ta! ra Burkett's son , Joseph Preston Hilburn ,in a Will to, John A.and Julia A.Conley,to have and raise as their own child.Their son "Fred Hilburn" was adopted by, Morgan Cleveland and his wife.George and his brother Oathar Robert Johnson who were kept togehter ,by their mother's sister ,Annie L.Burkett,who was married to Joseph Thompson,in Wayne Co.,Ga.Their sister ,Cora Johnson,was raised by, her mother's first cousin and his wife,Matt A. and Carrie F.(Pennington) Burkett. After George and his brother Oathar Robert Johnson ,were grown and married both brothers moved to ,Tattnall County ,Georgia ,where they raised the two families togehter.Their sister ,Cora Johnson, married ,David "Dave" Pennington,she died after having their child ,Virgil Pennington.Cora Johnson was dead and buried for two weeks before her brothers were told about their sisters death.Oathar Robert Johnson, was killed in a logging accident in,1951,in ,Tattnall County,Georgia ,and is buried with his wife at! ,Little Flock Cemetery, on ,Lynntown Road,in ,Collins ,Ga. In ,1952, Fred (Hilburn) Cleveland and his wife located his 1/2 brother, George Johnson ,and his late 1/2 brother Oathar Robert Johnson's family,in , Tattnall County,Georgia. George Johnson and Fred (Hilburn) Cleveland ,were trying to find the other 1/2 brother ,Joseph Preston Hilburn, until their deaths .George Jonson ,Died : 17 March 1959, in ,Griffin Hospital ,in Evans County, Ga. He is buried at ,Little Flock Cemetery, Lynntown Road,Collins,Georgia. George was Married to ,Lessie Lee Lynn,born: 15 June 1898.She was the daughter of , Sarah Ann Jarriel and Ben Lynn. Both are Buried at ,Little Flock Cemetery.Fred (Hilburn) Cleveland ,was married to a lady by the name of ,Alice,who had been married before with a son from previous marriage.Fred and Alice ,lived in ,Florida ,at the time.Fred was a Truck Driver ,and was killed while driving a gas truck from a exploision. He and his wife ,Alice,are buried in ,Florida.Ge! orge and Oathar Robert Johnson,both have big families still living in and around ,Tattnall County, Georgia.We are trying to find out about the 1/2 brother ,Joseph Preston Hilburn,who was left in his father's,J.H.Hilburn's WiLL ,to a , John A. and Julia A.Conley.The "WILL" was recorded and found in , Old Telfair County, Georgia Records Book.Would like to know what happen to him,if he had a family of his own and if he did would like to find his children ad reconnect the cousins.We have lots of stories and pictures to share.
