A William Davis patented land in Montgomery Co. AL 2/6/1832. He could be your William. There was a William Davis in Bladen Co. NC that signed a deed with Sampson Davis in 26 Dec 1797. There seems to have been a connection somewhere but I haven't been able to find, Wynnette.
