Their children were: America (m. David Goyne); Mary Jane m. John Taylor; Thomas (m. It is strange that Henry is not mentioned in the Will. Your hypothesis may be correct or, maybe he was disowned for some reason. Another strange thing, he mentions his 8 Children which would have to include Henry. Certainly it didn't include Levy who died 25 years earlier. Also, why did he bequeath John his negro Boy William in Paragrah#4 and in Paragraph#12 only $5.00 for he and his Heirs? If your hypothesis is correct, why didn't he include Henry with same stipulations regarding Heirs as he did John? hmmmmmmmm, "it gets curiouser and curiouser"..Joe

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/JS.2ADE/606.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: The Lowndes County Marriage Records show the following: Rev. Joseph F. Roper married MRS. Louise P. Bird on May 20, 1850, marriage book 2, page 80, married by Henry Graves, MG. This would be the widow of Herny Gooch Bird who died in 1848. Joseph and Louisa are found on page 147B of the Lowndes County Census in 1850. With them are Joseph's children William R., age 15, and Rachael E., age 12. Also is a son Joseph F., age 1. Haven't figured who his mother is. Also with them is J. W. Guy, age 5. Now, if J. W. is Louisa's son, then perhaps she was married to a Mr. Guy before Henry. Something to keep in mind, however, is that children were boarded in some homes so they could go to school. Also, J. W. Guy could be Louisa or Joseph's nephew. Just some thoughts.

J.Q.K. nor Abner Mackey can be found in AL census of 1870. J.Q.K. and Rebecca Mackey KIng are found in 1880 census in Crenshaw County, AL. I believe the Mackey family may have moved to another state between 1860 and 1870. Elizabeth died between Nov. 1868 and 1871, because in i872 a son was born to J.Q. and REbecca. I also think J.Q. and his children went to find the Abner Mackey family and married sister Rebecca and then moved back to Crenshaw CO. Can't pronve this yet,but I am looking. Any help is apprciatted.
