    3. Dear Sandra and others, thank you for the photograph of Gustav's brothers and family. I have sent it to Wilhelm in Eschweiler (assumed to be Will's grandson): he doesn't have any old photographs to compare it with, but remembers that one of his greatuncles (doesn't remember the name) had emigrated to USA - just another hint that we might be on the right track. I have place your photograph on http://www.seelentags.de/allmacher/wanted/gustav1868.htm and added the details about the children of Friedrich Allmacher (1818-1881) and Katharina Herten (1829-1910), Gustav's "potential parents". All 8 children were alive, when the mother died in 1910; in your description you mention "Heinrich's widow" - so the photograph must have been taken later. On the other hand Heinrich's daughters (as far as known to me) were then 15 and 18 years old - whilst the girl on the photograph is hardly 10, I guess. Could be a younger sister I'm not aware of yet, or someone completely different - or we have picked the wrong family alltogether. The youngest son was Edmund Josef (1875-1957): I have now also sent copies of your photographs to his grandson Edmund im Emmerich; as he is actively involved doing genealogy, he may have some old photographs, even if his grandfather is not depicted on "your" picture.
