This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Allison, Ralston Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hZ.2ADIB/1770 Message Board Post: Seeking dates for John Allison and Ruth Ralston who married 09 Feb 1792 in Fayette Co, KY. Found the following bio posted with NO SOURCE CITED! "John was a Virginian, a soldier in the war of the Revolution and in the battle of King's Mountain. He was of English descent and was a prominenet farmer of Montgomery County. He afterward moved to Nicholaus County, Ky. and bought a farm on which stood a brick house - one of the first in that part of the state, of David Caldwell, a relative of the venerable pioneer. Mr. Allison died aged seventy-seven years. He was a devout Presbyterian, a man of excellent character and highly respected. He had but one wife, who was the mother of his children." Ruth and John md. 1792. Guess they were born c1772. Ruth may have been the dau of John b. bef. 1730 of Augusta Co, VA. She may also have been a dau of David d.1808 in Harrison Co, KY, but unlikely. There are other possibilities for her parents, too. Any help appreciated in identifying where John Allison's bio came from and when he and wife were born and died. Thanks. Cheryl
Hello, John Allison was born 12-7-1759 in Rowan Co., NC, died 1832-3. Ruth Ralston was born 10-6-1767. ( I realize that doesn't agree with his being 77 at death.) He was supposed to have been the son of John and Elizabeth (Bowen) Allison. John and Ruth had 3 sons and 7 daughters. I have 8 or 9 names of those children with a few spouses. Judith I can't give you sources, but I have corresponded, over the years, with Vivian Smith of Nunica, MI and with Mary Walker of Redmond, WA on this line. cakemp@yahoo.com wrote: > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Allison, Ralston > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hZ.2ADIB/1770 > > Message Board Post: > > Seeking dates for John Allison and Ruth Ralston who married 09 Feb 1792 in Fayette Co, KY. > > Found the following bio posted with NO SOURCE CITED! > > "John was a Virginian, a soldier in the war of the Revolution and in the battle of King's Mountain.
