I located him thru my grandfather William's census history. Henry's wife, Cornelia, shows up in the 1860 census in Cortland, NY as a washerwoman with the 3 youngest kids. William is in the 1870 cencus living with his married sister, Henrietta, in NYC as a machinist. My father, Arthur, was born in Yonkers,NY. I'm a bit surprised in re Henry moving to MI. He was 43 in 1850 & a blacksmith in NYC. More later........ Chuck
