His wife I think is Decima Taylor and he definitely had 2 children, Irene and Mary born before he went to New Zealand, so about 1915-1920. His parents were Thomas Lambert Pratt (b 1840 Hawes, N Yorkshire) and Barbara Johnston (b 1841 Penrith). He visited once in the 1930's but all contact was lost after that. I would be glad of any information.

Surnames: ALLISON, HARMON Classification: Bible Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hZ.2ADIB/1718.1 Message Board Post: Thank you to all who provided clues to this Bible. I was unable to establish definitively a location for this family -- I am assuming it is near Pennsylvania because of the common circulation patterns of the German Billmeyer Bibles, but of course that is not nearly proof. I have posted the images of this Bible at Bible Records Online at http://www.biblerecords.com/allison.html . I sometimes rearrange the site into different folders and such, so if you are reading this in the distant future and do not find it at that URL (the web is ephemeral!), go to http://www.biblerecords.com and look in the index. Thanks again -- Tracy St Claire

    3. Joe, According to family history, five sons of Thomas Allison, Jr. and Elizabeth Rebecca Norris Allison served (and survived) NC in the Civil War: Ephraim, Williamson, Isaac, Norris, and Richard. I am fairly sure the Isaac, Norris, and Richard you list here are the same as the sons of Thomas, Jr. Ephraim, my ancestor, served in the 65th Regiment, NC State Troops, as a private, and I have been told that Williamson served in this same regiment with Ephraim. (Source for information about Ephraim Allison's service: his widow's pension filed in 22 Jun 1902: Transylvania Co, NC. Widow's application for pension. Mrs. Juliann Allison, aged 60 [sic], resident of Clotho. Widow of late Ephraim N. Allison, Co D, 65th Regiment, NC State Troops, 15 Jun 1863. Statement signed by applicant as J.A. Allison: "My husband has been dead about 20 years. And I myself have to walk on crutches, impossible to walk without these. I received my injury by falling down, caused by sun stroke" and the NC Civil War Confederate compiled service records, 6th Calvary, 65th State Troops: Ephraim N. Allison, private, served as teamster.)
