Is there a website where the ancestral line is charted? I'd love to check it out. Dear Tabitha, Like you, I'd love to know if there is a comprehensive Allison website. For what it's worth, you will find my (UK) lineage at http://members.cox.net/ghgraham/jamesallison.html , but despite years of hunting I have never found any collateral branches, in the UK, USA or elsewhere, except for one line in South Africa, which has no male heir. Hope this helps somebody, at least! Clifford Allison.

I do NOT appreciate you assuming that i am NOT Clayton Allison great daughter..I have sufficient evidence..i am DEEPLY hurt by your reply. geez, i hope i am NOT related to you in any way! that would be a bummer.. I do not like MEAN people. this was NOT nice of you...I am a DIrect ANCESTOR of his, and will stand by my word! I DO NOT care if people that are writing to you find this "amusing" to them and you. Apparently i do not think you were ALIVE back then and it is possible he may have had to boys or brothers or whatever. But the bottom Iine is that he was still my great grandfather. and I am taking this very seriously.. Anything that has to do with my family i take very seriously..and I honestly feel you should apologize that was unnecessary for you to act childish and say untrue things about MY lineage. How dare you.. thanks!

This is kind of strange but i feel there is definately some relation with us. My grandfather was Clayton Allison, he was a notorious gunslinger of the west. He had something to do with jesse James and all the rest.. also, you mentioned something about adoption? well, My Uncle, who is Robert Allison, is my Father James Joel allison TWIN! and they were both adopted!. I am not sure if this is information that will help you, but apparently I have a 1/2 sister of 1/2 brother out there that I have never met!!! how strange..anyways get back with me and let me know if this helps, o.k? they are from he Texas area, however, my father, james moved to California when I was born..o.k. thanks Allyssa

This is not my Allison line , so I am not able to help sort out the differences. I know that researchers of these families are attempting to find documentation to confirm the ancestry, but the documents may not be available, as we too often discover. The pedigree charts show the direct paternal line for each participant, so you may not see your direct line if someone from your line has not yet ordered a DNA test. Mary

Maybe you can help me sort this out. I found some names that matched some on my ancestor charts in Group C. I have mine going from Robert Allison and Elizabeth Scott to Robert Ellison and Mary Lloyd to John Allison and Elizabeth Matthews to Gerrard Robert Ellyson and Anne Myhill. I found these names in ID 2143 in Group C and I see that they have been traced back two more generations. What confuses me is that Robert Ellison (m. to Mary Lloyd) and his predecessors also show up on ID 4221, 31715, 4068 with slightly different dates but the same spouses names and sometimes different name spellings and an extra name inserted between generations. I'm confused. Could you help me sort this out? My line is descended through Robert Allison and Elizabeth Scott. I thought their son Moses Allison (m. Elizabeth Phipps) was next in line but I have been told that that information is incorrect. But one of Robert's son had a son named John Allison (m. Nancy McDaniel). His son James Madison Allison was my ggg-grandfather. But I can't find a line on the website that matches this. Thanks for all your help. ~Tabitha

I have searched through all the old posts but have not found the information that I need. Does anyone have extensive information on this line? (many people in other posts have claimed to have the information but none have posted it) Clay Allison is a distant cousin in my family (according to family members). I am not a direct descendant. He is apparently one of my ancestor's cousins. So I need complete family lists so that I can link Clay to my family. I know that Clay's grandparents were Robert J. and Susan Allison. Does anyone have a list of all the children of Robert and Susan? Does anyone know Robert's father and brother's name? Somewhere down the line I should find and Allison in common with Clay. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, ~Tabitha

I checked out the website. Best I can tell from first glance, I don't think I'm related. I can't find any names listed that match my ancestor charts. But I'll look a little harder. You wouldn't be able to tell me if any of the groups have people who eventually settled in AL, would you? I could check those out first. Thanks for the info, ~Tabitha

The URL is: http://freepages.family.rootsweb.com/~allisonellisondna/index.htm You will be most interested in Groups A and C on the chart, becaue both groups trace their ancestry back to Lanarkshire, Scotland. The DNA scores of Group B have a similarity to Group A and may have shared a common ancestry many, many hundreds of years ago. When you click on a participant's ID #, you will see his paternal ancestry chart. Do you know if your Allison great-grandfather had any biological brothers or uncles who HAD the ALLISON surname? If so, any living male descendants of those men who HAVE the ALLISON surname carry the same Y-chromosome DNA as your Allison great-grandfather and grandfather. One of those men could order a DNA test and you could find out if his DNA matches the DNA score of any current participant in the Allison/ Ellison DNA Project. The link below can be used by an Allison or Ellison male who might wish to submit his name, mailing address,e-mail address, etc. to order a DNA sample kit to be mailed to him and join the Allison/Ellison DNA Project. http://www.familytreedna.com/surname_join.asp?code=H99693 Best wishes, Mary Allison Yonan

He's my gggg-grandfather. For me it goes James, Andrew Jackson, Julius Franklin, Euel Celester (my g-grandfather). If you have any military info on the Allison's I'd love for you to share it with me (esp. if it's Civil War info that I can pass on to my dad). I have that Andrew Jackson Allison fought in the 58th Alabama Infantry in the Civil war and that James Madison was in the 27th Alabama Infantry. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm also trying to find connections to TN Allisons. There is a notorious Texas gunslinger named Clay Allison. (Julius Franklin's youngerst son was named Julius Clayton after this man). Now all this is just story passed down through the family but I did find Clay Allison in a book on gunslingers. b. 1840 d. 1877 and originally from TN. So I'm trying to find the link. If you have information on any TN Allison's that would be great. ~Tabitha
