One of the "hits" for him in Volume 3 is a summary of his will. It shows a date of July 1769, and it shows Robert Allison's children as James, Mary, Janet, Francis, Halbert, John, Robert (infant) and Agness. His wife was Hannah, as I recall. Mary MIGHT have been Mary (Allison) Davidson, the wife of the John Davidson who died in 1802.....but no solid proof of which I am aware.

This John Davidson was married to a Mary, and it is believed that she was Mary Allison, a daughter of a Robert Allison. Could that have been the same John Allison that you seek? If you research Chalkley, you can find some entries for the above Robert Allison (and maybe for some other Allisons, as well). I do not know how/if John Allison was related to Robert Allison, but I would be mildly surprised if they were not closely related (maybe grandfather/grandson). http://www.rootsweb.com/~chalkley/index.htm

Hello, John Allison was born 12-7-1759 in Rowan Co., NC, died 1832-3. Ruth Ralston was born 10-6-1767. ( I realize that doesn't agree with his being 77 at death.) He was supposed to have been the son of John and Elizabeth (Bowen) Allison. John and Ruth had 3 sons and 7 daughters. I have 8 or 9 names of those children with a few spouses. Judith I can't give you sources, but I have corresponded, over the years, with Vivian Smith of Nunica, MI and with Mary Walker of Redmond, WA on this line. cakemp@yahoo.com wrote: > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Allison, Ralston > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hZ.2ADIB/1770 > > Message Board Post: > > Seeking dates for John Allison and Ruth Ralston who married 09 Feb 1792 in Fayette Co, KY. > > Found the following bio posted with NO SOURCE CITED! > > "John was a Virginian, a soldier in the war of the Revolution and in the battle of King's Mountain.
