I believe that my greatgranddaddy, Taylor Davis was married to a Miss Stroud. They died in Grandview, Spencer County, Indiana, some time after 1874. We believe that the Davis family left North Carolina and moved westward with several familes from North Carolina around 1820. Our line of Davis moved into Tenn. then into Owensboro, Kentucky; then into Spencer County, Indiana. Some of the families that left North Carolina together were, Davis, Stroud, Gaither, Browne and possibly Burgess. I know that Great Granddaddy Taylor and Miss Stroud were killed and my Granddaddy Charles Goldman Davis was raised by a family named Browne. Is there any connection between your Andrew Stroud and the Miss Stroud that was my Great Grandmother Davis of Grandview, Indiana. Help! cmikedavis@email.com
