    3. These are the Reams/Reames and people connected to them who appeared in Limestone Co. I'm trying to piece this family together. If you have information on the people connected here (Peebles, Roberts, Brumbelow, Baker, Craig, Holt....), please let me know. Thanks! Sharon 1822 (Dec 13) Peter REAMS of Limestone Co.,AL issued federal land grant in Limestone Co. # 1465 (signed by Pres. James Monroe Oct. 20, 1823) / 79.05 acres / The west half of the southeast quarter of section ten, in township 4 of range 4 west, in the District of Huntsville and State of Alabama. (This appears to be in the extreme south central area of Limestone Co. / I found no sale or transfer of this land prior to 1830, so it appears that Peter Reams must have died before 1830. -S.F.) 1830 Fanny Reams in 1830 Limestone Co.,AL federal census page 41/42 Fanny Reams -head of household (must be the female age 40-50 years) males - 1 10-15yrs, 2 15-20yrs, 1 20-30yrs females - 1 under 5yrs, 1 5-10yrs, 2 10-15yrs, 1 15-20yrs, 1 40-50yrs 1834 (Nov. 3) Martha J. Reames witnessed a deed of trust from James Carter to Alexander Hood in Giles Co.,TN. (Earlier documents show that Alexander HOOD gave a portion of his land for a schoolhouse. It makes me wonder if Martha J. Reames was a school teacher. Maybe this how the Hoods and the Reames got together. -S.F.) 1834 (Aug. 18-21) Ann Reams/Reames married James ROBERTS in Limestone Co.,AL license Aug. 18/ executed Aug. 21 (from Pauline Jones Gandrudes Alabama Records vol.24 p.2) This James Roberts died between 1840 - 1846. A James Roberts appears in the 1840 Limestone Co.,AL fed. census living near James F. Roberts. In the 1850 census there is only one James Roberts. In the 1860 census there is a James L. Roberts. This leads me to believe that the James F. Roberts was the one who married Ann Reames in 1834. 1834-35?? Mathew J. Reams married Miranda C. Hood (Daughter of Alexander and Jane Hood) I do not know where or exactly when they were married. If it was in Fayette Co.,TN -marriage records from that time period have been lost. I found no marriage record for them in Giles Co.,TN or Limestone Co.,AL. He was born July 20, 1811 in N.C. She was born Oct. 18, 1815 in TN (probably Giles Co.) 1842 (Jan. 30) Henry J. Reams (of Limestone Co.,AL) married Mary S. BAKER in Fayette Co.,TN He was born abt. 1813 in N.C./ She was born in Alabama abt. 1826 He appears in the 1850 Limestone Co.,AL census as head of household with his wife and these children: Julia A. F. born abt. 1844 Martha J. born abt. 1848 Jackson F. born about 1849 (Census information taken from H.C. Smiths book on Reams/Reames & Allied Families) (This Henry J. Reams filed account for settlement of estate of James Roberts, deceased in 1846) 1844 (Apr. 27 -29) Julia Ann Reams married James BRUMBELOW license -Apr. 27, 1844/ married Apr. 29, 1844 by Howell Peebles M.G. (I found no Brumbelows in the 1860 Limeston Co.,AL census) 1844 (Dec. 28 - 30) Harriette Rebecca Reams married William C. Hood (of Fayette Co.,TN) in Limestone Co.,AL license - Dec.28, 1844/ married Dec. 30, 1844 by Howell PEEBLES 1840 -1846 Last will & testament of James Roberts (will book 6 p.400). Taken from Gandruds Alabama Recors vol. 21 -Limestone Co. Wills & Estates. Abstract of will from Gandruds book vol 21 p.37: James Roberts. Last will and testament (failed to get dates) book 6 p. 400 Wife, Anne; July Ann Reames and Harriette Rebecca Reames; James CRAIG and Henry HOLT, executors. Witnesses: James F. JOHNSTON, John F. FRENCH, John W.A. GOODWIN. (For some reason I made a note that this was in Vol. 219 p.4 / Limestone Co. orphans court minute book 1843-1847 -S.F) 1843 - 1847 Henry J. Reams applied for an order to sell some slaves (vol. 233 orphans court minute books p. 59) 1846 (Mar.7) Henry J. Reams files accounts for final settlement of the estate of James Roberts, deceased. 1849 (Jul. 12) Richard W. Reams (of Limestone Co.,AL) married Sarah A. Carter in Fayette Co.,TN He was born abt. 1822 in N.C./ She was born abt. 1833 in TN The Carter family appears to have many connections to the Alexander Hood family while in Giles Co.,TN (bef 1835) and Fayette Co.,TN (aft 1835). He and his wife were in the 1850 Limestone Co.,AL fed. census w/1child - Martha J. born abt. 1850
