I am still trying to find my ggg grandfather. His wife was Elizabeth Julia (Hodge or Hodges) Weston. He was married to her pre 1826. They have three known children together. Moses Riley Weston born in Morgan county, AL in 1826 per his army records. He served in the War with Mexico and died serving in that war. Other children were Nephanny (Nettie, Neffie, Neffa) Weston born in 1828 and married John Butler in Blount county, AL and Jasper Newton Weston born in 1833 in AL and married Elizabeth Lucinda Fortner in Blount county, AL. Jasper Newton Weston listed on a census his father was born in Ohio. It is a rumor in some family stories that my mystery Weston was married before and had sons Bill and Baker Weston who lived up north somewhere. Elizabeth Julia Hodge(s) Weston was rumored to be the daughter of Hugh Hodge of Virginia. She had a daughter pre her marriage to a Weston (no marriage record has been found) named Lydia Hodge. She married Calvin Tidwell who has c! onnections to Blount county, AL Tidwells. Jasper Newton Weston named his first child John Columbus Weston. He college educated all eleven of his children. A family story that has not been proven had this mystery Weston named Jacque Weston. IN newspaper articles Jasper Newton Weston was fondly called "Jop" Weston. Maybe someone down the line got this mixed up. They sound similar. It is assumed he was in North AL in the 1820's. Is anyone researching these names?
