    3. To Mona, Benjamin Chapman was born in Virginia in 1794. He came to Giles County, Tennessee before 1820 for he is listed in the 1820 census there. His wife was Frances and she was born in South Carolina in 1799. Their children were: Charles S. "Charlie" (born about 1826 and died Jun 26, 1898) married Nancy Caroline Chapman (his second cousin) Martha married Mr. Harmon Hardy (born 1825, died ?) Wiley Felix (born 1829, died ?) married a Brown the first time Timothy P. married Oct 14, 1858 to Gustie Ann Ezell Elizabeth Ann (born 1834, died ?) married Feb 11, 1858 to James McCracken Eliza (born 1835, died ?) married May 5, 1860 to William C. Harwell Calvin T. (born 1839, died?) Benjamin was a brother to William A. Chapman born in Virginia about 1780/1785. I am descended from him, he's my g-g-g-g grandfather. William is also in the Giles County Census in 1820. There are three more Chapman households in the Giles 1820 census and I suspect that they all are related. There is a Thomas, John, and a Peggy that is living next door to Benjamin. All five households lived in the same general vicinity in Giles and I know that they knew each other for the men all worked together on the roads of Giles County, this is documented. Benjamin later moved to Limestone County, in the northwestern corner near present day Good Springs. He is said to be buried in the Old Salem Cemetery in an unmarked grave. His son Charles is buried there in a marked grave. I have more info concerning Benjamin and his descendants if anyone would like to contact me. My e-mail is chappy@mbusa.net Mike Chapman
