Posted on: Limestone County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Al/Limestone/459 Surname: Russell ------------------------- Elaine, I think we've corresponded before, but your query just now hit home with me. I've been thinking that my gg grandfather, James W. Russell, might be the son of the James Russell in the 1840 Giles County census. My James was born in 1829, and that would make him fit as being the 10-15 year old male in the James Russell household. I've also been thinking that the John G. Russell living next door to James is likely his father. John G. was born in VA according to a later census. My James doesn't definitively appear in Giles County until 1860 where I find him in the census with his family, including his wife Elizabeth from VA. I do not yet know where he was in 1850. http://www.rootsweb.com/~tngiles/census/1860/p182.htm Did you happen to see a younger James Russell in Greene Co., MO? We may be chasing down the same family. jane
