Bill, Mary Etta Rose was daughter of Burtice Smith Rose and and Martha Jane Shoemaker (granddaughter of Bennet Rose and Nancey Burney).. She was born 8-28-1867 in Limestone Co. and died 2-13-1959 in Limestone Co and buried in Temperance Oak Cemetery. She married Doc Clark Ramsey on 12-23-1883. He was born 3-22-1861 in Limestone Co. to Mike Ramsey and Sarah Elizabeth Goode. He died Feb 13, 1934 and is also buried in Temerance Oak Cemetery. They had 7 children Sarah Jane b. 2-1-1885, Matthew Bennett b. 7-13-1887, Bertice Irene b. 6-5-1890, Samuel Curtis b. 7-4-1894, Walter Lee b. 12-25-1901, Jewell Marie b. 9-29-1906 and Carlos Oat b. 6-14-1910. Mary Etta was my Grandfather's first cousin (William Jefferson son of Alfred Alexander a brother to Burtice). This info came from a report by Christine Rose of the "Rose Family Association" and included in the book "An Alabama Rose Garden" by James Lynn Parham and centers on "The Rose Family of Lauderdale and Limestone Counties". There are a lot of Ramseys listed that I assume are descendents. I am just another one of the Roses with my middle name spelled Burtis.
