I will check on the location of the Oak grove Cemetery. I found it on the list of cemeteries I have for the county but cont have its location. I believe its around Good Springs (according to the index of cemeteries it is listed with Good Springs) tho. I will get directions Friday. I copied a list of the cemeteries so I could have the names but didnt get locations. I will work on that this week. Dianne
The Limestone Cemetery book gives the location as SW quarter. I looked on my map of the cemeteries and churches, the street and road names aren't given, just the Road numbers. The address for Oak Grove Church is 11460 Cowford Rd. 35611. This should be the correct area because it is near the Brownsferry Nuclear Plant. You can go to Mapquest and put in your address and this address and it will give a map on how to get there from where you are. I did not see your relative listed but the book says this is a large cemetery with many unmarked graves. Maybe the church has records that might help you. If I'm not mistaken the Oak Grove Cemetery is in the Thatch community near Ardmore. Sorry, I don't have a specific location or address. Kim Ivey kivey@companet.net

I will be making a trip to the library this Friday. I have kept track of all the requests on the list and printed them out to take. If anyone has any other specific surnames they want checked for the cemetery lists and a few other books I will have a couple of hours to look thru. I will take a copy of the previous surnames with me so if I can come up with more info for you I will. I will not have time to do much census lookups but there is a lot of info in books there. Can anyone help me with some BAILEY marriages, please? I am looking for the marriage of RICHARD BAILEY to a Mary ----last name might have been Elliott or Jackson. It took place around 1879-80. The Bailey's had a daughter VIVIAN who probably married around 1900 and a daughter JESSIE who probably married around 1903-1915. Thanks so much! Jackie in Texas

I have just been appointed as state of Alabama coordinator for the Gen-web census transcription project. I will continue to work on the Morgan County 1900 census. I have 10 pages of enumerations until I post enumeration district 134 to the web. That is the Somerville e.d. I have 2 requests concerning this project. If anyone has a completed transcription either posted on the web, or which you are willing to share, please advie me. For those online I will place links on the Gen Web site. Those which you have transcribed from film will be installed also. Secondly We can use transcribers and proofreaders. You have to provide your own raw data, or of course you can get it at your friendly Family History Center, many Libraries and societies. Personally I am using the Ancestry.com images available online for a grand cost of $100 per year including all of Ancestry's other databases. We have the transcription form programs. The one that I am using is called Cen Trans. As I work, I can get an index either by page or by person. Works great for filling in holes in my database. Either write me or go to http://www.rootsweb.com/~census/ for details. You can also go there to see the completed transcriptions. This is a really great way to assist other genealogists forever more. The goal of this project is to transcribe every existing US census including the 1890 fragments and have it online. Feel free to email me or call me if you need more info. Earnie R. James and his first wife, name unknown, were supposed to have had eleven children. He and Rachel had eight. I would like to learn the names of his children living in Limestone and nearby counties. Joseph & Elizabeth (GIBSON) DAWSON were both b. SC, and lived in TN, where their children were born from 1800 to about 1817, then moved to Limestone Co. AL. A lot happened in the next few years, births, marriages, deaths, etc. By tracking the collateral lines, you often find what you need for your direct line. I believe my direct line is through their son Joseph DAWSON and wife Elizabeth KIMBALL. I'm trying to prove that and need help. It was a large family, some of whom stayed in Limestone Co. and others moved into Mississippi. Would like to correspond with anyone whose research has these names, married to a Dawson: KIMBALL, SIMS, KENDRICK, McGOWAN, ADAMS, McFADDEN, GRAY, EDDINS, HARRIS, TAYLOR, BALLARD, HYDE, LEVESQUE and any others you might have. You can reach me at jlove@swstaty.com Thanks, Judi Dawson Love
Listmembers, I want to remind everyone that virus warnings are not appropriate for the list. Even if you think you have infected someone, please don't tell the whole list. There are reasons for this, and I will explain each one. 1) You cannot get a virus from the list. RootsWeb has filters that prevent this kind of thing. Even if you get a virus infected message/attachment that appears to come from RootsWeb....trust me, it didn't. It probably came from another subscriber who has the list address in his/her address book. 2) If you feel that you have infected someone, please contact them privately. Don't use this list as a public bulletin board. Now, there are things you can do to prevent viruses, so please read this carefully: 1) Invest in an anti-virus program that is capable of scanning e-mail messages and attachments. I know the prices can seem costly, but it's worth it if it protects your valuable research...not to mention your computer. 2) Keep your ant-virus program updated. Go to the program's website and download the last updates or use the programs auto-update feature. 3) Scan each and every attachment you receive regardless of who it's from or what the file name is. With these new viruses, it is possible to get a virus from someone you know. 4) Scan your whole computer for viruses regularly. 5) Make sure you're virus program is running at all times. If you have any questions regarding this list and viruses, please contact me privately. From this point on, please do not post any virus warnings or announce that you may have infected someone. Ok, now that we've cleared the air on this....it's back to scheduled programming. I apologize for the interruptions, and try to keep my "LISTOWER" postings to a minimum. Sincerely, Kim Ivey <kivey@companet.net> Listowner
