William Cake Filgo, Jr. was given guardianship of their son Edwin in Orphans Court Limestone Co., Al. on Feb. 28, 1931. I haven't been able to follow up on other marriages or children from James McCuan. But if the information on this forum is correct about James and Sarah's children together, then maybe when they were moving to Graves, Ky., Edwin wanted to stay in Limestone Co. with his uncle. That's just a guess. This is all I could find in the Limestone Co. archives the other day.
Hi, Does anyone have a copy of the book "Heritage of Limestone Co. Alabama", who would be willing to do a look up and make some copies? Thanks Rick

I did have an uncle who lived at Madison Cross Roads, AL, which I think is near Toney, AL. If there is a connection it must be through the Nancy Jane McGuire name, that is our primary family surname, MCGUIRE. What info do you have on Nancy Jane McGuire maybe I could delve into that name and make a connection to the Vest name. I have looked at so many names in the past 2 years I am seeing double at least, sometimes I think I am seeing triple, ha, ha. Thanks, Ann

Does anyone have access to the 1900 Limestone Co Census or is there an index available? I would really appreciate a look-up. My grandfather, Lemuel GRISHAM, was born in 1887 in Limestone Co, AL. His parents both died in 1891 and he and his siblings were left orphaned. The children were separated after that, and my grandfather had little contact with his brothers & sisters. This is what I am looking for: One of his sisters was said to have been adopted by a family that eventually moved to OK. I need to know the name of this family. I'm hoping that the 1900 census might reveal this. I would like to know the names of any families in the 1900 census that have any GRISHAM children in the household. Also, I believe one of these may have been adopted by the family that moved to OK: Annis Verona GRISHAM b abt 1886? or Onus Syrona GRISHAM b abt 1890? I don't know how accurate this info is....it is not the result of my own research and I haven't verified this yet. Thanks for any help! I believe that my greatgranddaddy, Taylor Davis was married to a Miss Stroud. They died in Grandview, Spencer County, Indiana, some time after 1874. We believe that the Davis family left North Carolina and moved westward with several familes from North Carolina around 1820. Our line of Davis moved into Tenn. then into Owensboro, Kentucky; then into Spencer County, Indiana. Some of the families that left North Carolina together were, Davis, Stroud, Gaither, Browne and possibly Burgess. I know that Great Granddaddy Taylor and Miss Stroud were killed and my Granddaddy Charles Goldman Davis was raised by a family named Browne. Is there any connection between your Andrew Stroud and the Miss Stroud that was my Great Grandmother Davis of Grandview, Indiana. Help! cmikedavis@email.com
I am looking for info on Fred Hubert Hill. According to the info I have, he was born March 22, 1893, and he died in Madison County, Alabama on July 14, 1956. He is buried in New Antioch Cemetery in Limestone County, Alabama. I know he had a son named Andy W. Hill born March 13, 1922, and he died Aug. 21, 1964 also buried in New Antioch Cemetery. Thanks Robbie
