    3. Researching the family of Robert Stephenson who died in Limestone County,AL in 1830. NIXONS,MINGS,SMITHS,WHEAT,BIARD, and WHITLEY were known families associated with Robert Stephenson who married Elizabeth Whitley in Lincoln County,Ky in 1793. Researching the family of Samuel John Robert Stephenson who married Mary Shields. Samuel John Robert Stephenson was born in York County,S.C. in 1795. My Stephensons said to be cousins to Robert Stephenson above. Samuel Stephenson was in Limestone County,AL. by 1822 when his son George Alexander Stephenson was born. Families in Limestone associated with my Stephensons: HUDSON,GLASGOW,PERRY,SHIELDS,and Holt. Possibly SMITH and HARDIN. Other families associated with Stephensons in Limestone were RAMBO,ELLIOTT,BRADSHAW,and MONTGOMERY. My Stephensons were Baptist who are said to have attended church on Popular Creek. Another favorite place was Round Island. In Madison County,AL. my Stephensons were connected to the DARWIN family. Samuel Stephenson was in Limestone from 1822 to 1840. He had two sons below the age of 5 years on the 1820 census which I have never been able to trace. I am very interested in a Mary A. Stephenson who married WILLIAM Buchanan in Limestone in 1872. Records will have us as Stevenson and Stinson also. Tom Stephenson

    1. [ALLIMEST] CHEATHAM,TUCKER,BIARDS,Stephensons
    2. Tommy Stephenson
    3. I noticed someone was looking for Cheatham information. Here is an old message that contains some information about the Cheathams,Biards,Aikens and Stephenson Thanks for answering. No, I did not know that William Cheatham went to Lamar Co. TX in 1846 with the Biards and Stephensons. This would be William Jr. (b. 1800) by William Sr.'s (b.c. 1770) first wife Charlotte Wheeler in NC. William Jr. -m- Zeravina Aiken, they are both buried in Antioch Cemetery in Lamar Co. along with many other Cheathams, (including Aquilla ( William's half brother) and his wife, Rebecca Jane Tucker., Biards, and Stephensons. Was there a family connection? Were they intermarried? Aquilla and Rebecca Cheatham were my husband's g grandparents.

    2. When John SLAUGHTER died in Madison County @ 1812, he named George A. LOWE as one of his executors. I suspect that George A. LOWE was kin in some degree to either John SLAUGHTER or his wife Sarah. LOWE appears in the Madison/Limestone census for some years after John SLAUGHTER's death, but I can't find anything written about him. If you have any information about this man, please contact me at [email protected] Thanks much, J Brown

    3. Posted on: Limestone County Queries Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Al/Limestone?read=318 Surname: HOLMAN ------------------------- James Isaac Holman and wife Elizabeth Damaris Holman (E. D. or Lizzy) were released from a church in Limestone County in 1896. I 'assumed' they were moving back to Lincoln Co., TN. Most of their children were still living in Limestone County. By the 1900 census, Elizabeth was deceased and James Isaac was 'boarding' with Elizabeth's brother Joel (Jack) H. Thompson. I have read and reread the Fayetteville Observer for those four years trying to determine where and when Lizzie died - and it's a mystery. Maybe they didn't move back to Lincoln Co., TN. Does anyone have any ideas on this subject? Would love to exchange information and thank you.
