My family history ,with much of the information coming from Mary Sue Stephenson, who married Frank Monroe Hudson in Limestone or Madison County in 1881,claimed my Stephensons were Baptists and attended Poplar Creek, Are there any records of members of that Church? My Samuel Stephenson b. 1795 in York County,SC married Mary Shields. He came to Limestone by 1822. His son, George Alexander Stephenson, b. Limestone in 1822, married Elizabeth Sarah Perry in Giles County,TN. in 1849. He was living in Madison County in 1870 but came to Limestone for a Baptist Association meeting and decided to stay. In 1850 Samuel and George were living in Giles County,TN. They also attended Round Island Church at Slough Beat. Stephensons listed as members of this church were 1819 Sallie( Sarah) Stephenson 1821 Susan Stephenson 1828 Lethia Stephenson I don't believe these Stephensons were mine Year ago, I believe I remember seeing a Henry Shields who kept records at one of these churches.
