Russell is the son of my James and Martha. I know it is frustrating because there are so many James Russell. I have the 1850 census of this family in Greene County, MO and my great grandfather is James K.P. Russell born in 1835. I will be glad to send you the whole family if you will send me an email at [email protected] Thanks for the clue of the next door neighbor. This is the first clue of a possible parent for James.

    3. Posted on: Limestone County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Al/Limestone/459 Surname: Russell ------------------------- Elaine, I think we've corresponded before, but your query just now hit home with me. I've been thinking that my gg grandfather, James W. Russell, might be the son of the James Russell in the 1840 Giles County census. My James was born in 1829, and that would make him fit as being the 10-15 year old male in the James Russell household. I've also been thinking that the John G. Russell living next door to James is likely his father. John G. was born in VA according to a later census. My James doesn't definitively appear in Giles County until 1860 where I find him in the census with his family, including his wife Elizabeth from VA. I do not yet know where he was in 1850. http://www.rootsweb.com/~tngiles/census/1860/p182.htm Did you happen to see a younger James Russell in Greene Co., MO? We may be chasing down the same family. jane

    3. Posted on: Limestone County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Al/Limestone/457 Surname: Canup, Choran, Grady, Hardiman, Turner ------------------------- Linda: I have circumstantial evidence that Leonard Choran, b abt 1900, may be a member of the family I have been researching in Limestone Co.,AL. Leonard possibly had a sister a named Leona b abt 1901. Leonard's wife was Leona Woodfin who was also b abt 1901. It is difficult to pin this family down since most were known by a nickname or their middle name. I believe Leonard's name was James Leonard Choran Jr. (I hope to have more specific data regarding James Leonard in a few weeks.) Other possible siblings for Leonard were Mary b abt 1902, Raymond b abt 1903, Estelle b abt 1905, Elsie b abt 1908, Georgia b abt 1911, and Exie b abt 1913. If your "Leonard" and is the James Leonard Choran Jr. and "Lina" his sister I am researching I have photos of their Hardiman grandfather b abt 1843 and great grandfather b abt 1812 to share.

    3. Posted on: Limestone County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Al/Limestone/454 Surname: CHORAN, CORAN, CORNAN, COHRON, COHORAN, COHORON ------------------------- I too, I am seeking info on "CHORAN". I am looking to find the relatives of "LENA CHORAN" born about 1899-1901 and married Walter Lester RANDOLPH in Wright City, McCurtain Oklahoma, on March 20, 1921. The witnesses were "JOE CORAN" and "Mrs. Pearl Glasco", both of Wright City. As you can see, the marriage license has two different spellings for "CHORAN". Family photos, also list a "LINARD CHORON". JOE and LINARD are belived to be LENA's brothers. "Ruby" may be JOE or LINARD's wife and one of them has a half brother named "BILL". It is assumed that LENA is much younger than those listed above. Other towns in the area were BOKAHOMA, VALLIANT, IDABELLE,DURANT, BROKEN BOW, Red River Tx., and Mt. Pine Arkansas? Other spellings are, CHORAN,CORAN, CHORON, CORNAN, COHRAN COHORON. If anyone has info please contact [email protected] Please advise me of dates and locations, and I will post and research your list as I search. Please pass this on to your search list and message boards as well. Thanks, Linda
