James Kelley b. Elbert Co., Ga., m. Susannah Jones, in 1836, Elbert Co, Ga. , lived for a few years in Paulding Co., Ga., then moved to Phenix City, Russell Co., Al. Their children were: Sally Ann N. b. 1836, Mary K., b. 1838, Martha Elizabeth b. 1840, John Ira b. 1841, William A. b. 1845, Wiley G., b. 1848, a daughter, L.E. b. 1854. I believe that James may have been in the War Between the States. His son, John Ira Kelley was in the 45th Alabama. James may have died between 1866 - 1870. After 1870 Census I cannot find any of the family except my ancestor, John Ira Kelley. He moved to the Talladega, Birmingham area. His sister, Martha Elizaeth m. a Lawhon and lived in Louisiana.
