Including other surnames: CHANDLER, CHARRINTON, DEADMAN, HOLMES, NEWTON The first instances of ALLCHIN from the start of the baptism registers in 1725 through to 1805 are the children of Henry and Mary ALLCHIN (or ALCHIN) 2 May 1784 MARY (from contemporary index) 16 Aug 1787 ANNE (from contemporary index) 24 May 1789 HENRY, Son born 22 May 1789 5 Jan 1794 JANE, Dau born 9 Dec1793 30 Oct 1796 ?ESTER, Dau born 20 Sep 1796 (probably Hester) There are some ALLCHIN marriages in the Harleian Soc Transcript of Marriages 1725-1787 for the same church: 25 Dec 1754 Richard ALLCHIN & Mary CHANDLER 7 Sep 1763 George DEADMAN & Ann ALLCHIN 9 Jul 1768 John ALLCHIN & Margaret CHARRINTON (no 'g') 18 Oct 1781 Henry ALCHIN & Mary HOLMES (presumed to be the marriage of Henry and Mary above) 27 Jun 1782 John ALCHIN & Elizabeth NEWTON I'm trying to establish Henry ALLCHIN (wife of Mary Holmes) in my tree (or eliminate him!). If it is the right one, the spelling of his name changed to ORCHIN. I'd be please to hear from anyone on the list with any of these folk in their family tree.
