Hi I am descended from Thomas Alchin who was miller of Leybourne and died in 1702. He had 4 sons Thomas, Henry, Anthony and Richard mentioned in his will but I haven't found baptisms for them yet. They may have been born in the 1640-60 gap in the records. Thomas married twice and was buried 1717 of New Barns, West Malling. Henry married Mary Alchin at Meopham in 1682 and was buried at Leybourne in 1720. Anthony had at least 2 sons Anthony and Thomas, but had died by 1701. Richard married Rachel and was buried in 1739 of Rays, West Malling. Henry and Mary had 5 sons, John 1687, Henry 1688, Thomas 1689, Anthony 1696 and Richard 1699, also 3 daughters. Anthony was living in Whitehall, Mdx in 1727. Richard was my ancestor. I haven't found his marriage to Jane but they had 4 children baptised at West Malling: Mary 1732, Jane 1734 (my ancestor), Richard 1735/6 and Henry 1738-9. Richard died in 1738 and Jane remarried in 1740. My Alchins can be found at http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/~mrawson I would like to hear from anyone connected to this family. Also anything about Alchins in the area in the 1600s. Maureen Rawson Email: MRawson@roadrunner.nf.net Web Site on genealogy sources for Kent, England: http://home.thezone.net/~mrawson/
