We previously thought this was the surname COOLEY. Charlotte has copies of this marriage record, and has forwarded them onto me. There is no, doubt that it is Covey. We also note that in Hiram Richardson's letter of 1884, that it looked like Cooly. From Hirams letter "My sisters, Nelly POPE and Sally COOLY live near me. Each is proud of her family as she has a right to be." The V, must of looked so much like an L. that everyone thought it to be a L. Charlotte family history, knew that Sarah was a Richardson, and that the date of marriage was the same date September 11, 1846.
