    3. Connecting families of interest: Witherspoon, Howell, Wesson, Chedester/Chidester, Montague Hello: I am not related to the Witherspoon family but my wife had a cousin , Bennie Howell (female) that I have done some research on and I have found that she was raised by the James G. Witherspoon family. Of interest to those who research the Witherspoon family's of Texas, I have found that one child (Minnie) of J.G. and H.C. Witherspoon is buried here in Lauderdale County, Alabama with the family of James H. and Jane Witherspoon. There are 2 different Minnie Witherspoon graves at the Richardson Cemetery in Waterloo, Alabama. This is how they are listed in "Some Lauderdale County, Alabama CEMETERY RECORDS by Jill K. Garrett and Iris H. McClain. WITHERSPOON Minnie, dau. of J.G. and H.C., 16 May 1872---- 18 Nov. 1875. Marked "Minnie's grave". Minnie, dau. of Rev. J.H. and Jane, 14 Feb. 1853----18 Sept. 1970. All of this Witherspoon families graves at the Richardson Cemetery are said to have been removed from the Witherspoon Cemetery nearby and placed in the Richardson Cemetery when land was flooded by T.V.A. I think this was in the early 1930's. WHAT I NEED Can anyone give me any information on Bennie Howell ? Bennie was the daughter of Benjamin Howell and Sarah Witherspoon. I think Sarah was the sister of Harriet (H.C.) listed above. When Sarah died and a little later Benjamin died, Bennie seems have been sent to Texas to live with Harriet and James G. and family. Oh yes, Harriet was a Witherspoon before she married a Witherspoon cousin, James G. With help from several others, I have traced Bennie Howell to marriage to a Frank Chedester. They don't seem to have had any children. They ran some type of business in the Britton area of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Frank died in 1939 and Bennie died in 1955. I found their graves in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma this past summer. They are buried in the Britton Cemetery, but not buried next to each other. One person sent me information that James G. Witherspoon died at the home of his niece Mrs. Frank Chedester. These fellow researchers have given me information that I never will be! able to repay. I would like information on these Witherspoon's and Bennie Howell Chedester and husband Frank. I am hopeing that maybe someone might have some photos or other things that they might share. It is my guess that Bennie never knew her HOWELL family as she was very small when she left Lauderdale County, Alabama and Hardin County, Tennessee. I believe that she was probably unknown to many of her cousins here. I plan to put my information on her in a family file at our library in Florence, Lauderdale County, Alabama. Thanks for any help anyone can send me. Steve Cooper Cloverdale, Alabama STEVECOOPER75@COMCAST.NET
