From the FLORENCE GAZETTE (Lauderdale Co, AL) July 31, 1861 THE STATE OF ALABAMA, LAUDERDALE CO. Probate Court, July 19, 1861 This day came JAMES P. and YOUNG A. GRAY, and filed their petition, alleging among other matters, that they are the principal devisees in the will of their mother, ELIZABETH CHILDRESS, deceased, and the administrator, with the will of their said mother, is, for the present, absent from said State, and is likely to be for several months to come, and that he left the State without having made a final settlement of the same, and therefore praying an enquiry, and that said administrator may be removed. And it being shown, by proof, which is satisfactory to the Court, that said WILLIAM H. PRICE, is not now in this State. It is therefore ordered that the 12th day of August, 1861, be, and the same, is hereby appointed, a day for the hearing of said application, and for making such enquiry and that notice of the filing of such application, and notice of this order be given by publication to continued for three successive weeks in the FLORENCE GAZETTE, a newspaper published in said county of Lauderdale.
