Franklin Cherry Mangum/Mangrum, was the son of Thomas Carothers Mangum and Mary Janes Barnes. I would really like to know the connection between Mary Jane Barnes Mangum and the Robertson family. Some say Mary Jane Barnes Mangum, was actually Mary Jane Robertson, daughter of Archer and Sally Robertson, and some say she was the daughter of Lilburn Barnes and Mary Waits. I am thinking maybe Mary Jane Barnes, married a son of Archer Robertson, prior to her marrying Thomas Carothers Mangum. Mary Jane was 30 years old when my grandpa Franklin Cherry Mangum was born, that is kind of old for a woman in those days to be having a first or second born child.
