    3. Dear List Members, I am searching for information on Paine(s) living in Lauderdale Co., AL.. The only information I have is on George William Payne, (perhaps spelled previously spelled Paine) my grandfather. Here is what I have; GEORGE WILLIAM PAYNE was born December 15, 1855 in Alabama, and died March 09, 1943 in Loretto, TN.. He married SARAH E. WATERS. She was born June 01, 1871 in Tennessee, and died August 26, 1937 in Loretto, TN.. Payne are listed with children James David b abt 1881, Mary b abt 1883 and Lizzie b abt 1895. In a near household is John W. Payne b abt 1882 with his wife Francis (Frankie) Mae (Moore) Payne and children Alice b abt 1908 and Mattie b abt 1910. Sarah is listed with having had 5 children 4 of whom are still living. I assume James David, John W., Mary, and Lizzie are the 4 living children. At some point, if I can make the connection, they moved to north Alabama into Lauderdale or Colbert Co.. The point where I find information on (my) George William Payne is in West Point, TN.. I am sure he had brothers too. But, this I will tackle when I find the connection. Thanks in advance for any and all help given. Randall Hughes
