    3. Sorry everyone, I did not clarify my request. The website address I am looking for is someones personal site. It could be someones site with the surname Lindsey. Or it could also have reference to James Harder who was a primitive Baptist minister near the area around 1820. He was the minister of the Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Josiah Lindsey married Henrietta Harder on October 27, 1823 at Florence by David Lancaster. There is a Lindsey cemetery on Rt 157 north of Cloverdale where 157 curves toward the Natchez Trace. Does anyone have information on this old cemetery. I thought possibly the person who posted the address originally would recognize the information. I have searched through most of my files with no luck. If I remember correctly, the site has area cemeteries that are indexed. Any help would be appreciated. Sincerely, Cynthia Chandler East Peoria, IL

Interestingly enough, my great great grandmother's name was Carmelita B. Nolan, married to John Cooper. Is there any way this name could have come down through the line to you from her? Were you named after anyone that you know of? Sure hope to hear from you. Barbara Cooper McGee

    3. >From time to time, someone will forget that rootswebs list server does not accept HTML format mail. Please read the following from the rootsweb staff. Thanks for your time. Troy Hi -- The message you submitted to this list (included above) wasn't sent to the list subscribers. RootsWeb accepts only plain text mail. That means that HTML mail, attachments, ``enriched text'', and a few other formats can't be sent to RootsWeb mailing lists. You can post your message if you send it in plain text; turn off the ``Post in HTML'' or ``Enriched Text'' features of your mail reader, or don't use any attachments. See http://www.rootsweb.com/rootsweb/listowners/html-off.htm for instructions on turning off HTML in most of the popular mail programs, or ask your ISP's technical support line for help. We've had to institute this policy because of the problems that accompany these fancy mail formats. Some people don't have mail programs that are capable of processing the special file formats. Even among those who do, different mail programs handle these special formats in very different and confusing ways. HTML messages pose special problems to our digested mailing lists. Most of all, HTML-ified mail and attachments place a considerable burden on RootsWeb's overworked machines. All in all, mail in this format produces a lot of problems for RootsWeb's servers and subscribers, so we find it's best just to use plain text. -- The RootsWeb staff -- Troy McCarley Alabama Unknown CC AlGenweb Unknown County Query Page http://www.rootsweb.com/~alunknow/index.html McCarley Family Association http://www.airnet.net/mccarley/index.html McCarley Family Assoc. http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/FamilyAssoc/McCarley Lauderdale County Alabama Mailing List:<mailto:ALLAUDER-L-request@rootsweb.com> Slaton Family Mailing List:<mailto:SLATON-L-request@rootsweb.com> surnames: McCarley, Slaton,Chandler,White,Grisham,Snoddy

    1. [ALLAUDER-L] Thomas Wallace
    2. Lee Mathis
    3. Hi, everyone... I haven't posted the family I'm researching in a while, so here goes... Several Wallace Cousins are looking for any information on the Thomas WALLACE family. Thomas was born in York Co, SC about 1795 and moved to Lauderdale Co, AL around 1819-1820. There is strong circumstantial evidence that his father was a John WALLACE from York Co, SC who died in York Co in 1816. Further, we have identified the following as John WALLACE's children: - John WALLACE - Sarah/Sally WALLACE m. Cornelius FARRIS 8 Sep 1823, Lauderdale Co, AL - Casy/Cassy WALLACE m. Samuel FARRIS 20 Feb 1826, Lauderdale Co, AL - Catherine WALLACE (>1805 - ) m. William JONES 15 Jan 1828, Lauderdale Co, We are more interested in Thomas's parents than his descendants. However, here is some info about Thomas's family: Thomas WALLACE (~1795 - 1874) m. Sarah _____. Their children were: - 1 Alexander McCuin WALLACE (1810 - >1870) m. Malinda THORNTON (~1815 - ) 27 Oct 1834, Lauderdale Co, AL - 2 James WALLACE (~1813 - <1870) m. Caroline Lucinda ANDERSON (1816 - <1870) 27 Jan 1836, Florence, Lauderdale Co, AL - 3 Thomas Shelby WALLACE (~1815 - <1876) - 4 Mary S. WALLACE (~1815 - ) m. Lemuel MONTGOMERY 28 Aug 1837, Lauderdale Co, AL - 5 Hettie F. WALLACE (~1817 - ) m. William E. DAVIS 1 Aug 1835, Lauderdale Co, AL - 6 John Burris WALLACE (~1825 - 1876) m. Emily P. MARRS (~1825 - >1870) 9 Jan 1845, Lauderdale Co, AL - 7 Salenius M WALLACE (1828 - >1870) m. Nancy Caroline ROBERSON (~1832 - ) 1851, probably Tennessee - 8 Harrison Kendrick WALLACE (~1830 - >1876) - 9 Samuel J. WALLACE (1833 - ) If any of this looks familiar, please send me a note... Thanks, Lee Mathis Arlington, VA

    3. Good Morning Everyone, Recent additions to the web page includes some cemeteries in Township 2, Range 12, plus all queries, surname addition, etc., received up to midnight last night [8 May]. We also have a new lookup volunteer. Patty Hopkinson will be doing lookups in the 1860 Census of Lauderdale County. This book includes the 1907 Lauderdale County Confederate Veterans Census, as well as some miscellaneous civil war records. Welcome aboard, Patty. While I'm on the subject of lookups, is there someone out there with a copy of the published 1870 census of Lauderdale that would be willing to do this? Pat M.
