    1. [ALLAUDER-L] QUILLEN/QUILLIN researchers
    2. Anna M. Langley
    3. I'm looking for descendants of Balzora Quillen or James F Quillen, brother and sister. They are the children of William Quillen, son of Charles D. In 1860, they are living in Lauderdale County (around the Greenhill area), then the family appears in Lawrence Co. in 1870 but there is NO mention of James F. Balzora is 14 attending school, and James would have been 12. Did he die between 1860-1870?? Or he with relatives?? Does anyone else have anything on this line or any of the lines associated with William's siblings??They are as follows: 1) Jasper -- b. abt 1832 2) Isilla --b. abt 1834 3) Timothy Allen --b. abt 1836 m. Sarah Catherine (Katie) Denton 1863 Tuscumbia, Colbert Co. AL 4) John P / John T. --b abt 1838 5) Mary C --b. abt 1840 6) Chesley M --b. abt 1842 My ancestor was child #8 , George Carroll-- b 4 Dec 1854. We have no records of any other children being born between 1842-1854. Seems strange, though to have children as close as they did then go for 12 years and not have any more. I'm able to share all that I have on the family so far, especially my line. Would love to connevt with other QUILLEN cousins. Anna alangley@hiwaay.net

    1. [ALLAUDER-L] MY FURNACE HILL ?
    2. Gil Creasy
    3. Thanks to all who replied to my Furnace Hill query. I assumed it was in Lauderdale Co. as I got the information from a Death Certificate. He died in 1926 and in 1920 census was living in St. Florian Precinct. Certificate stated place of death as Lauderdale Co. and residence as "Furnace Hill"---informants address listed as "Furnace Hill, Florence, AL." Thanks again.

    1. [ALLAUDER-L] If I only had a brain!!!
    2. C. Y. Watkins
    3. Something just dawned on me. My mother went to Coffee High School there in Florence and she has a couple of school albums. I think they are dated 1939 and 1941 but I am not positive of the dates. Somebody might want some information those books have in them and I didn't even realize they were close at hand. I will try to talk my mom out of them or sneak them out when she isn't looking which is almost never. When I get ahold of them I will let ya'll know. BTW, I am coming to Florence this Wednesday and Thursday. I have to go to Probate Court and contest my late Aunt's will. I am so overjoyed!! :-(. I plan to try to look up a few things while I am there. Can someone give me the names of a few places to look? My mom's family was from around Florence and Haleyville, I think by way of Decatur but that's not positive. One thing I am especially interested in finding is a record of my great grandfather's birth certificate and try to trace down who his parents were. There can't be that many TINGLEs from Lauderdale county!!! Can someone tell me where to go to search for that. I know where to get copies of property deeds and wills but I don't know anything about the birth certificates. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Carol Price Watkins
