There is a map of this Twp and Range on the web site: http://www.rootsweb.com/~allauder/mapt2r8.htm Pat Wayne & Peggy Horton wrote: > > Could someone tell me, so I can locate it on a Lauderdale County map, where Crittenden > Crossroads, Beat #4 is? Is there anyone on the list who ever gets a chance to visit the Florence-Lauderdale Library who might be willing to do a lookup for me? I have a William McGill, died about 1922-1923, buried Florence Cemetery. If there's a Florence Cemetery book, his exact date of death is probably listed... I am interested in knowing if, for around that period of time, there is an article in the Florence newspapr regarding his death... He was murdered by a man whose name I am told was Valentine, and I am intersted in learning more about the incident. It seems that my McGill's may have been tied to a Valentine family, and I am hoping to determine more about this. Any help will be most appreciated. Thanks, Jim Davis

Good Mornin' Pat, I think you have a GREAT idea re the pictures. Please, please do it!! Carol in California PS - How many of you have pictures that are old, that you can't identify? I'm thinking about a "Have Picture - Need Name" type of page - what do ya'll think??? >>
Hi Everybody, Well, the three days that I had all 'strung together' is about to come to a close, and my spinning on the web is about to do the same. If you haven't stopped by the Lauderdale pages this weekend, please do so the first chance you get. The URL is listed below in the tag lines. New Additions: BIG THANK YOU TO NANCY GOOCH - The first installment of the Lauderdale Co AL World War One Draft Cards - AB - ALL. Nancy's really working hard on this so all of you will have access to the info - and doing a GREAT job! Another big THANK YOU to Sally Moore Brace for the pictures of James and Sarah (Moore) Jackson who were the owners/builders of the plantation called The Forks of the Cypress. According to Sally, Sarah Jackson was called "Sally the Beautiful" and if you'll take a look at her picture, I'm sure you'll see why!!! James Jackson must have considered himself to be one lucky fella! Other additions include some cemeteries thanks to Orlan Irons; The index to Inventory Books B and C; Queries; Surnames; Another family web site with McMeans & Ingram on it; and info about a new book "The Thomas Favors Family with Twigs and Other Branches" which is really "hot off the press" by Joy Favors. I think that's about it - for now. Hope all of you had a fun, safe and happy holiday weekend. I know I did! Pat PS - How many of you have pictures that are old, that you can't identify? I'm thinking about a "Have Picture - Need Name" type of page - what do ya'll think???
