    2. CEVM
    3. Hello, I have tried everything I can think of and others have thought of. Now I am going from county to county to try to locate my father and family. Father William Austin Born in Indiana 1927 or 1928. I can get no info from Vital Records because I do not have Birth date Parents names or anything else. This was all that was on my Birth Certificate. Here is all the info I have. My name is Rev. Dennis Keith Austin I am 44 years old my fathers name is William Austin he would be around his early 70's he has a daughter name Twila she would be around 51 to 53 and a son around my age. He had Curly Auburn hair he lived in and around Monterey Park, California. He worked at a gas station. This info is 44 years old. My mothers name is Barbara Ballenger. He was not married at the time he and my mother had a relationship and when she got pregnant he left. I have no other family brothers and sisters except on the Austin side. My mother saw him again a year after I was born and he was married and had a little baby with him. If you could be of some help it would be a Blessing. Please contact me one way or the other. Thank you and have a Blessed weekend. In His Grace, Rev. Dennis Austin 7577 Margate Court #104 Manassas, Virginia 20109 1-800-650-3238 Toll Free cevm@erols.com

    2. I don't know if this will help, but there are MATTHEWS referenced in the index to "Crow and Stroup, SC to AL--1818" at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Flats/6048/names-al.html There is a bit of Lauderdale data in the book, though it does focus primarily on Morgan county. Good luck! 3. Hi all, I'm still on the Lauderdale list. It's one of the few that I still read every day. I just haven't been able to get back into the mood for working on my lines. But I love hearing about other folks' successes...and I keep my eye open just in case a cousin shows up. I did e-mail Nancy earlier to let her know I'm still lurking. :) Guess after 10 years of digging for more info in every spare moment, the burnout's going to take a while to get over. My frustrating Lauderdale county ancestors: Who was John McGee's (married Martha Hill) parents: Joseph and Cynthia, or Jacob and Elizabeth? Anybody have proof (besides what "everybody says")? Mary Adeline Lanier married 1) James Curtis Clemmons and 2) Welcome McGee. Who were her parents? Nancy Ritter married John Wright (#3). Who were Nancy's parents? Who were James, Martin and Catherine Hill's parents? James married Catherine Stutts, Martin married Elizabeth Smith(r?), and Catherine was "Granny Richardson". How were my James Hill (b. NC) and the other James Hill (b. SC) in Green Hill related? How does Nancy Kennedy who married Curtis Clemmons fit in with the "Rifle Factory" Kennedys? Who were Nancy and Curtis' parents? When I find the answer to any one of those, I might be able to get back in the swing again. Donna
