    1. [ALLAUDER] Frank Chandler, b. AL d. AR c. 1905/06
    2. Cynthia E. Chandler
    3. Seeking information regarding my g-grandfather. Frank Chandler is listed on my grandpa's SS application as being his father. His mother is listed as Ada Chambers. William Franklin Chandler was born April 11, 1905 in AR to Frank Chandler and Sarah Margot "Ada" Chambers Davis Dunn. Did not know that my grandpa's middle name was Franklin until receipt of SS App. He always went by Frank. What I do know about Frank Chandler: 1. Frank Chandler was born in AL probably around 1870. 2. He had at least one son, Chester, by a previous marriage. Chester died around 1933 and is buried in Gargis Cemetery, Lawrence Co AL. His family remained in the Colbert Co. area. 3. Frank Chandler died in AR shortly after his son, William Franklin, was born. Ada brought all the children back to AL, most probably Franklin Co. My grandpa lived the last 45-50 years of his life in Muscle Shoals, Colbert Co. AL until his death in 1983. Frank Chandler is my brick wall. If anyone can help, it would be appreciated. Would also like to find any descendants of Chester.

    2. Brenda W.
    3. I am trying to prove that Sarah Laird born about 1824 in TN and married to Sanders Phillips in 1845 in Lauderdale County, AL, was the daughter of Nathaniel Laird (born 1797 in Iredell County, NC and married to Sarah Elizabeth Weatherly in Lauderdale County, AL, on 02/01/1820). I do not know where this Nathaniel Laird died or is buried. But just assuming the possibility that he died in Lauderdale County, AL, and I do have that he died sometime between 1850-1860, maybe there exists a will mentioning his children. Would I find this will at the Lauderdale County Courthouse and how difficult would that be? Does anyone have any info regarding this family? I have a very extensive chart info on this Nathaniel and his ancestors/descendants, but I do not have have info on my Sarah. Thanks, Brenda

    1. NATHAN DAVIS, SOUTH CAROLINA>ALABAMA>MISSISSIPPI
    2. Greetings, I have for many years been researching my gr gr grandfather NATHAN DAVIS (1786 - ?) who's son was named LEVI FOWLER DAVIS (1819 - 1888) NATHAN DAVIS was first found by this researcher in LAUDERDALE COUNTY ALABAMA. NATHAN DAVIS was in Lauderdale Co. from about 1821 until about 1842, when he moved to DESOTO COUNTY, MS. Family legend has NATHAN DAVIS coming from South Carolina, but I have never been able to locate the place of his birth nor who his parents were. I offer the following information in hopes of finding additional information about NATHAN DAVIS These are assumptions only: Nathan was first married to EMILY FOWLER in South Carolina. EMILY FOWLER was the child of MARTHA O> FOWLER and LEVI FOWLER. MARTHA O> FOWLER came to Lauderdale County Alabama with her daughter and her son-in-law NATHAN. EMILY FOWLER DAVIS died about 1819 at the birth or complications from the birth of her son LEVI FOWLER DAVIS. Her mother MARTHA FOWLER and Nathan's 2nd wife EMILY McLUSTER (McALLISTER) raised LEVI FOWLER DAVIS. Facts: LEVI FOWLER DAVIS married NANCY GERMAN (JARMAN, GARMAN) in Monroe County Mississippi in 1841. MARTHA O. FOWLER has a headstone in the Wesley Chaple Methodist church cemetery in Lauderdale Co. Alabama, which says: MARTHA O. FOWLER, wife of LEVI FOWLER and gives her birthdate as 6 May 1769 and her death date 11 July 1841. There is no headstone for LEVI FOWLER in this cemetery. If anyone can offer additional information, it would be appreciated. Bob Davis 13117A NW 8th Ave. Vancouver, WA. 98685 (360) 574-1624

    1. [ALLAUDER] John G Stutts..Correction
    2. On my message about John G Stutts, I did not make my point clear. I did not mean to imply that John G Stutts arrived around the same time as Drummer Jake Stutts. Only that it appears by the names in his family that there may be a connection to him. Although, he did arrive around the same time that William Wesley Stutts came to Lauderdale. Charlotte

I would figure he was the son of John Henery (Gentleman John Henery Stutts) or a brother to William Wesley Stutts Facts: This John G Stutts showed up around the same time as William Wesley Stutts and Drummer Jake Stutts he was on the 1870 and 1880 Lauderdale Census Charlotte Killen Borden

    1. [ALLAUDER] Benjamin Washington Watson descendants
    2. 11/16/99 Seems as I get older, my thinking and typing don't quite match. In fact my letter to ALLAUDER-L@rootsweb.com contained an error. I stated the "mentioned" Watsons were my first cousins, once removed or second cousins, whichever you prefer....What I really meant to say was, the offspring of...(Neely, Oder, and Bessie, my Great Aunts and Uncle), were first cousins, etc. My Grandmother was Velma Osteen Watson and a sister to Neely, Oder and Bessie. 11/15/99 Hi: I am attempting to contact descendants of Benjamin Washington "Doc" Watson (1848-1919), of Lauderdale County, AL. This includes the following....children of Elma Oder Watson, married Robert N Baggett.....(2) Mary Elizabeth "Bessie" Watson, married Jesse Polk Comer (3) Neely Moore Watson, married Mary C Comer. All of the above mentioned "Watsons" are my 1st cousins, once removed, or second cousins, whichever you prefer. It is believed that many of their offspring remain in Lauderdale County, but not knowing their names, I have no way to contact them for inclusion in the "Benjamin Washington Watson" Family Tree. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Willard Stallings Rt 2 Box 518 Maben, MS 39750 whs1235@aol.com
