    3. Searching for data on parents of: My gggrandfather; John C. GIST, b. c1818, TN. m. Elizabeth FISHER, (1826-1861), in 1847 in Lawrence Co., TN. They had four children: James Carroll "Jimmy" Gist, b. 1849 Celia Jane "Lucinda" Gist, b. 1853 Elizabeth Ann Gist, b. 1855 John Henry Gist, b. 1859 Father of John C. unknown but possibly John GEST described as an early settler of Lawrence County in Goodspeed history. Strong circumstantial evidence that mother was Elizabeth GIST who (2nd) married Elija WALKER in 1819. I believe this Elizabeth may have been an older sister of Joseph GIST and Joshua GIST who settled in Lawrence County, TN by 1818 and later moved to Lauderdale Co., AL. Per Bugger Saga by Wade Pruitt, John C GIST was murdered by renegades at his home on Shoal Creek in Apr 1865. Following his death, son James Carroll "Jimmy" GIST married Nancy Lidda WILEY in August 1865 and he and his siblings migrated to White Co., AR in 1866. In his narration, Pruitt describes John C. as first cousin to Levi and James GIST (sons of Joseph GIST). Looking for any evidence to confirm relationship between John C. of Lawrence Co., TN and the Gist's of Lauderdale Co. Thanks to all. Bob Watson

    3. Is it possible that Sarah "Sally" Joiner, born April 03, 1817, married Charles Brickley "Brick" Jones, is also a sister? They married in Lauderdale Co. on November 11, 1836. On the 1850 census { }, they (Charles and Sarah) {114} were listed next door to Drury, Jr. {113} and just down from Drury and Frances {111). We have not been able to connect her to her parents. Do you have a suggestion? Thank you. Mary Ann Scott ClhNorris@aol.com wrote: > Moses, Eli and Drury JOINER are brothers and were in Lauderdale Co. at least > by 1817.
