    1. [ALLAUDER] DAVIS,ROBERT A. (1839- ) Lauderdale County Alabama
    2. Greetings, I am seeking information on ROBERT A. DAVIS who was a Civil War CSA soldier from DeSoto County MS. He enlisted in Co. D of the 44th MISSISSIPPI Volunteers (BLYTHES REGIMENT) in July of 1861 and was wounded during the Battle of ATLANTA on July 28, 1864 and "sent to hospital" at the FLOYD HOUSE and OCMULGEE hospital in MACON, GA. which I believe was in BIBB Co., GA. I have been unable to locate him or his resting place or his descendants. Any help would be appreciated. Bob Davis 13117A NW 8th Ave. Vancouver, WA. 98685 (360)574-1624

    1. [ALLAUDER] No Subject
    2. Greetings, I have for many years been researching my gr gr grandfather NATHAN DAVIS (1786 - ?) who's son was named LEVI FOWLER DAVIS (1819 - 1888) NATHAN DAVIS was first found by this researcher in LAUDERDALE COUNTY ALABAMA. NATHAN DAVIS was in Lauderdale Co. from about 1821 until about 1842, when he moved to DESOTO COUNTY, MS. Family legend has NATHAN DAVIS coming from South Carolina, but I have never been able to locate the place of his birth nor who his parents were. I offer the following information in hopes of finding additional information about NATHAN DAVIS These are assumptions only: Nathan was first married to EMILY FOWLER in South Carolina. EMILY FOWLER was the child of MARTHA O. FOWLER and LEVI FOWLER. MARTHA O> FOWLER came to Lauderdale County Alabama with her daughter and her son-in-law NATHAN. EMILY FOWLER DAVIS died about 1819 at the birth or complications from the birth of her son LEVI FOWLER DAVIS. Her mother MARTHA FOWLER and Nathan's 2nd wife EMILY McLUSTER (McALLISTER) raised LEVI FOWLER DAVIS. Facts: LEVI FOWLER DAVIS married NANCY GERMAN (JARMAN, GARMAN) in Monroe County Mississippi in 1841. MARTHA O. FOWLER has a headstone in the Wesley Chaple Methodist church cemetery in Lauderdale Co. Alabama, which says: MARTHA O. FOWLER, wife of LEVI FOWLER and gives her birthdate as 6 May 1769 and her death date 11 July 1841. There is no headstone for LEVI FOWLER in this cemetery. If anyone can offer additional information, it would be appreciated. Bob Davis 13117A NW 8th Ave. Vancouver, WA. 98685 (360) 574-1624

    3. Good Morning Everyone, First, let me add my thanks to those of you who responded to Peggy's request, even though I don't know who you are. Her question was one that I thought someone else might have wondered about. In my abstraction of Inventory Book A-1, there are some marriages listed at the end. In some cases there are two dates, the last one is in parenthesis. The first date is the license date, the second (in parenthesis), is the actual marriage date. Pat

    3. RE: GARNER "Any Garners in the Lauderdale Co. area in the 1800s. Lacy Garner Moore Co. N.C" Is this of any help? From the book "Heritage of Lauderdale Co, AL", Heritage Pub. Consultants Inc, 1999, p145-6 '. . . Robert [T. Call] married Julia Garner on November 19, 1879. Julia, a school teacher, was the daughter of Enoch H. Garner and Lucinda Ellison Purdom Rhodes, and the granddaughter of Brice M. Garner and his wife, Catherine Range, all early-day residents of Lauderdale Co, AL. Their children were Sampson (born 1881), Solomon (born 1883), Moses (born 1885), Ruth "Daisy" Keturah (born 1886), and twin girls, Martha and Mary. The twins were born on March 29, 1890, and Julia and baby Martha died that day. Only Daughter Mary lived. "Little" Moses died as the result of a fall while picking wild grapes on September 11, 1896. Ruth Keturah suffered from Bright's disease and died at Reserve, November, 1901.' Good luck. Karen Call, TX
