At the present time, I have no connection to Gilford Dudley King, but I have worked on his family a little bit in the hope that he might be connected. My King's were in 1850 Lauderdale Co., AL. census (Catherine King household with children: William A., Arnold (John J. Arnold or J.J.A.), Stephen, Emeline, Joseph, George, and Luke). Since my King's and Gilford D. King were in Lauderdale Co. about the same time and lived in the same general area, I thought there might be some connection. Does anyone out there know the parentage of Gilford King or his siblings. I have found 3 theories on who they might be, but I don't think one has been proven, yet.. Judy

Arnold-20-NC Stephen-18-AL. Emeline-15-AL. Joseph-14-AL. George-11-AL. Luke-7-AL. No proof of Catherine's husband, but James M. King in 1840 Lauderdale Co., AL. Census is a possibility. Basically, that is what I am trying to find-who Catherine's husband was and the father of her children. I have info on most of these children, except Joseph.
