James White is on the 1830 census in Lauderdale shown as age 30-40. William Whitehead is also in Lauderdale in 1830. In 1834 William Whitehead bought land in Winston Co., MS. The next year his son in law, James White also bought land in Winston Co. William Whitehead had children Mary who married James White and Carroll Whitehead who also moved to MS. Who were the other children of William Whitehead?

Surnames listed in subject line were in Lawrence County/Tennessee and Lauderdale County Alabama from the early 1800s on. I'm particularly interested in ascertaining that Leonard Martin Stutts born in NC in 1805, in Lauderdale County by 1830 is indeed the son of Leonard Stutts who is turn was the son of Jacob Stutts and brother of Catherine Stutts Richardson. Most of my folks were line-sitters--very near TN border, spilling over into Lawrence County TN THOMAS HOLLAND b ca 1775, wife Elizabeth. Had stage coach inn astride the state line. ELIAS MCDONALD, b. ca 1820 TN, son of John McDonald/McDaniel, married Elmira "Ellie" Ross. I BELIEVE Ellie was dau of MOSES ROSS who appears in 1840 Lauderdale census. Wife probably Lavina. Although I have no reason to connect Moses Ross to these people, I am also interested in LOVING ROSS who must be brother to SUSANNA [Ross] HOLLAND, wife of WILLIAM HOLLAND. Preponderence of evidence suggests William Holland and Thomas Holland are brothers--both in Greenville SC in 1800. Loving Ross did not have any children, William and Susannah Holland had two known children. Interested in any Hollands or Rosses, although they may not all be related. Pat McDonald

Hi List, I'm seeking the parents of my gr gf, Francis Marion Posey, born 5-2-1830, some censuses say in Tenn, others say Alabama. He had brothers Frank G and George, one sister, name unknown.
