(depends on which census you read.) Cannot find this family in 1850 census. The earlies I find them is 1860 census living in Kemper Co. Ms. They were there in 1870 and by 1880 census had migrated on to Monroe Co. Ms. Children of Newton(1846) and wife: 1. Virgil Solomon b 1872 Ms. mar. Ethel P. SMITH, (moved to Winston Co. Ms. and died there 1954- Mt Carmel Cem.) 2. Marcus D. b 1877 Ms.(may have died young). 3. ELLA JANE b 4-13-1880 Ms. mar. Thomas Argarl NEAL in Monroe Co. Ms. She d. 1950 and he d. 1934. 4. Maggie L. b 1883 Ms. mar. S.A. HONEYCUTT. 5. Nancy J b 1892 Ms. mar. Lonzo THOMPSON. 6. Robert E. Lee b 1888 Ms. moved to Ohio.
