I am doing a book of pictures or images of Lamar County, Alabama Lamar County Kin. Arcadia is the publisher. The book will one in their Images of America series. Arcadia is the country's leading publisher of local and regional history books. The book will contain between 180 - 240 images and will be very affordable at $ 18.00 per copy. The book will be out May, 2001 just in time for Mother's Day. The book will be sold in bookstores, on the internet and by myself. If a club or society would like to sell as a fundraiser, that can be arranged. It is my intent to include all of Lamar County towns and communities in the book. The book will have images from the 1800's through 1955. If you have pictures that you will like to contribute to the book, you will be given credit in the book for your picture. Submit your pictures by December 15, 2000. If you live in Lamar County or surrounding area, I will pick up your picture(s) and return to you after scanning. Your picture(s) will not leave my house except to bring back to you. Outside of Lamar County, you should mail me a copy or send on a disk. I am excited about the opportunity to do this book and hope that you also will be excited about sharing your pictures with other folks through this means.
