The local library has a lot of PENNINGTON data. I do not know of a connection to your SMITH living around the LEBANON Church area.Billy Carr owns the land on the north east side of the church.Steve Benefield owns the land on the north west side of the church.Judge Curtis McLellan own the land across the hwy on the south in front of the church.Wofford cemetery is just a little ways north of the church. The Turner cemetery is south west of the church. There are may unmarked graves in both cemeteries.Springfield church and cemetery is about 3 miles south of Lebanon.Furnace Hill Cemetery is about 4 miles south. All of these cemeteries date back a good ways. Charles Pennington lives north of the church. And descended from the old Pennington line in that area. We have not been able to trace your Smith. But Smiths lived all the way from Vernon west to Grugg Springs community in Monroe Co,Ms. No connection between all of these that we know of. LEMUEL SMITH is buried at Friendship South Cemetery which is south west of the Turner site.BENJAMIN SMITH is buried at New Hope Cemetery on to the west of Lebanon near the state line. Across the line into Monroe County,Ms there is a PLeasant Grove Cem. Tellie Smith Estes and famly are buried there. On Wolfe Road is a Sullivan Cem.with Smith graves.Cockerham Cem. in Grubb Spgs. Community has many Smith graves. There are Smith graves in the Vernon cem.also.I have not seen a Steven Smith so far.I have read about a Steven Smith and Benjamin Smith that surveyed back in the early days. The Tuscaloosa library should have something on them.As the Alabama newsletters I saw the articles in were from Tusca.A Mr.Woods publisher. He did a Woods newsletter also. jean carr --WebTV-Mail-5093-376--
