Smith Black was accidentally killed by the Home Guard during the WBTS. According to the estate settlement he was living in Oakflat, Arkansas. My understanding of the receipts is that he was deceased by the time of the settlement because it refers to his estate. Do you have any info on him? Also, do you know what happened to Martha, age 12, listed on the 1850 Marion Co. census in this household?
