The John B. and Jane Taylor buried at Taylor Springs are a mystery to me. I remember them because of the large double tombstone with their picture on it. Joshua Taylor and Mathias Taylor where brothers born in North Carolina who settled in Marion County in the 1820s. Joshua was dead by 1830. Joshua's family lived in the area west of Moscow and Mathias seems to have been further east in the county. There are other Taylor families in Lamar county that nobody has yet connected that I know of. Jesse Little Taylor son of Stephen (brother of Joshua and Mathias) also settled in the Moscow area and has many descendents in and around Lamar County. He is not a child of W. B. Taylor who died in 1863, but the family bible has the first of his children married as John Thomas in Dec 1870. I have met descendents of George Franklin and William Jackson that live in Lamar County. Both men are buried on the old Taylor place. A few weeks ago I found a descendent of Joshua Burton in Mississippi. Tabitha Caroline's maiden name is shown as Hankins, although there is no known proof, just family tradition and a Thomas Hankins in the household in 1850. William Burton Taylor had a brother Bysha that lived in Lamar County that I don't know a lot about. Anybody have Taylor information to add? Dave David E.
