Dear Dave & Julie, Well here I am again, but I think that I have more proof of what I have sent previously. I found William Burton Taylor on the 1850 census of Marion County, AL (see below). Mollee 1850 Beat #4, Marion County, AL (page 106-B): Dwelling #101, Family #104, Enumeration date: 18 Nov 1850 Real Estate Value $300 Taylor, William B. 32 M W Blacksmith NC Taylor, Talitha A. C. 21 F W AL Taylor, Martha 7 F W AL Taylor, Mary 5 F W AL Taylor, Frances 3 F W AL Taylor, James A. 3/12 M W AL Hankins, Thomas 20 M W AL The Thomas Hankins in this census, is Thomas G. A. Hankins who was born abt 1830 and was the brother and closest sibling in age to our unknown female Hankins who must undoubtedly be the Tabitha/Talitha Caroline Hankins who was the second wife of William Burton Taylor. Thomas evidently learned the blacksmithing trade from his brother-in-law William B. as evidenced by the 1860 census below: 1860 Fayette County, AL (page 22): Dwelling #502, Family #502 Hankins, Thomas M 27 Blacksmith GA Hankins, Elizabeth F 24 AL Hankins, Martha F 6 AL Hankins, Louella F 5 AL Hankins, Maleley F 1 SC Thomas died in 1864 and the estate record below definitely establishes him as the son of John Miller Hankins and Martha Morton.
