Thank you to each who responded to my question about John Burton Taylor, son of William and Eliza. My cousin, J.W. Perkins is another active seeker in this corner of Alabama for connected cousins and I also appreciate David Taylor's family information on William Burton Taylor. Is it not too much of a coincidence that William Burton Taylor, father of Melinda Taylor Johnson, and my John Burton Taylor would have so many similar family names? John Burton named a daughter Frances Jane as did W.B. John Burton named a son, who became a preacher, John Thomas. So did W.B., and he was a minister also. 'Burton' is not that common a given name, so for both families to carry it as a middle name must mean something, right? I'm not even sure what kind of relationship I'm suggesting. Do we have two confirmed burial spots for the William Burton Taylor, father of Melinda, and the William Taylor, father of John Burton? Are we positive they're not the same person? Could they be uncle and nephew, cousins, father and son? Perhaps someone else has thought these same thoughts?
